Accomplish xeros in on online accounting market
Long-time Australasian accounting software specialist Accomplish aims to give Kiwi online accounting service sharemarket darling Xero a run for the money...
The 20-year-old company which developed and sells the CashManager accounting package has made the move online. A truly trans-Tasman entity, Accomplish was founded by accountants in Sydney, but is now headquartered in Auckland. It serves 25,000 small-to medium-sized enterprises in Australia, NZ and the UK.
General manager Grant Hewson says after several years of development it has now perfected an online version of its user-friendly software.
He says the main advantage of the new online version over rivals’ is that data files and financial records are fully compatible and transferable across both online and standalone software platforms.
“With some online systems, there does seem to be an issue as to whether data files would be available in a format which can actually be used, if anyone ever wants to pull out of the online service,” says Hewson.
He adds that some online services are so new they’ve not really been proven. Also, CashManager is fully featured accounting package and not just a general ledger service.
CashManager Online was developed at the request of clients who use the internet widely for their businesses and who saw benefits in having their financial accounts stored on a secure server accessible only to them and their accountants but available at any time.
“Accountants can review each client’s data in real time online. They can pull down reports on demand and look at progress results at any time, allowing them to liaise more closely with clients,” says Hewson.
“CashManager also allows users to have multiple companies. The online version is particularly appropriate for a business with multiple branches. They can file financial details remotely and have them accessible to head office at the same time.”
Online users pay a monthly access fee.
