Scottish transport firm picks Australian software
Scotland’s Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has chosen Australian enterprise software solutions provider TechnologyOne to supply its financials, supply chain, and business intelligence solutions to the organisation....
SPT plays a major role in the operation of the Glasgow Subway. The organisation also has a strategic duty to improve transport connections across Strathclyde, as well as developing the transport network and encouraging changes to the way people travel.
The contract, won by the company’s expanding UK operation, is worth more than AUD $800,000 and will be delivered in two stages over five years. The first stage will commence in October 2008, beginning with the TechnologyOne Financials and Business Intelligence solutions. TechnologyOne Supply Chain will be implemented in late 2009 in a process that will ultimately see the TechnologyOne solution suite deployed to 150 users within SPT’s workforce.
Stuart Paul, chief accountant for SPT, said: “When we went out to tender, we were looking for a solution that would combine excellent functionality with an easy to use interface. TechnologyOne was able to demonstrate that their solutions met all of our requirements, delivering integrated workflow and business intelligence. The fact that it can be tailored to meet our needs and we can work to a phased implementation was also an added bonus.”
Adrian Di Marco, executive chairman of TechnologyOne, believes that this win illustrates the momentum TechnologyOne is gaining in the UK market.
"This is another significant win for our growing UK operation. TechnologyOne’s ability to develop, market, sell, implement and support its solutions is unique in the UK market and we are continuing to show applicability, compliance and competitiveness of our solution in this region.”
