Greentree leads the poll in financial systems
The requirement to migrate its data had Newspoll on the lookout for new financial software - then Greentree came up with the numbers...
Newspoll is Australia’s leading provider of public quantitative market research services and opinion poll information. With offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the company provides high quality information that is accurate, reliable and timely.
Over its history the company has also applied high standards to its financial software, first deploying the CBA financial system in 1989 at its Sydney office - carrying out all creditor and invoicing requirements for its three offices.
Initially Newspoll purchased the General Ledger and Accounts Receivable modules. Then, as the company operation’s grew the Accounts Payable module was added to allow for computerised cheques. Following a few years later, an upgrade to CBA 2000 was carried out.
“I joined Newspoll two years after the CBA system was implemented,” says Newspoll financial accountant Carole Yeomans, “and out of all the systems I had come across, I found CBA effortless to learn and use.”
Over time, however, Yeomans says it became a priority to migrate Newspoll data - and although various systems were looked at, nothing seemed suitable.
“That is until Greentree,” she says. “What appealed most about the Greentree financial system was firstly it has a successful track record, from the developers of CBA. Secondly, the Microsoft office integration would allow a reporting tool facility through Excel, enabling online viewing and reporting at any time.”
Ultimately, Newspoll went live with the Greentree Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger modules, with the benefits plain to see.
“Time wise, there’s a dramatic difference with faster month end processing. As entries are updated immediately through the General Ledgers, we're now online as opposed to the previous manual updating system. Having other users access the system without compromising security will also be a great benefit further down the road,” she says.
