Berkowitz Furniture has been in operation since 1949, with humble beginnings as a furniture factory, and has since grown to become retailers of fine affordable, stylish luxury home furnishings, from contemporary to modern to classic furniture and accessories, with a chain of furniture stores in Dandenong, Geelong, Essendon, Moorabbin, Nunawading and Preston.

As well as operating the family business, Berkowitz also manages and distributes the Natuzzi line of Italian furniture – with five stores operating throughout Victoria.

With a focus on customer service, and delivering the highest quality products at an affordable price, Berkowitz plan on improving the customer experience across the business via the new SAP BusinessOne solution. This will be achieved by a more streamlined and visible supply chain process, better inventory management and information on hand, and the utilization of technology to ensure that all stakeholders – from customer through to the warehouse team – are getting the type of information they need. For customers, this will include a web based sales offering in the future.

Currently the business has a 50/50 mix of local and imported products on the sales floor, and it is anticipated that the improvement of the supply chain process via the BusinessOne application will have a positive impact upon the supplier relationship, and will allow greater control over the supply-to-order process.
